We’ve been away on a much-needed beach retreat.
I love wide open days with no agenda. I need them to feel human…
My squirmy kiddos in their vacation jammies the night before we left.
A rare moment alone at the rooftop pool.
The curls get even better in the salty sea air.
Morning naps on the beach…gotta love that!
Tomorrow we return to reality. And a tight agenda.
Boo.
But fall in our part of the Midwest brings apple picking and fun festivals, not to mention trick-or-treating and birthdays! Lots of birthdays!
Are you ready to say goodbye to lazy summer and hello to a busy fall? What is your favorite fall tradition?

I’m saying goodbye to busy summer and hello to lazy fall! I love it
I’m very excited for fall candles, cozy clothes, and afternoon naps! Also vacation, apple picking, and Halloween.
I’m excited for curling up with a big bowl of chili, in a sweatshirt, and watching a football game (right, Lis??) Also the apples, pumpkins, and one on one time with my most neglected kid 2x a week!
You forgot the most important part, the scent of a burning candle
Haha! I thought that part was implied!
Although I’m never quite ready for summer to end, I’m looking forward to football games, hayrides, playing in the leaves, apple picking & visiting the pumpkin patch…but my favorite activity this time of year, is horse back riding and seeing all the bright, beautiful colors of the woods.
That sounds lovely, Erica!
In LA, fall is very subtle. The trees change colors but not as vibrant as in the Midwest. September is the hottest month of the year so most people spend time at the beach. We have movies on the beach and we bring picnics and sometimes a little vino…the mountains are about 70 minutes away and the air begins to get a little crisp…we hike and have bonfires and eat fresh apples made in a variety of ways depending on where the person sharing grew up. My personal favorite is apple crisp with ice cream. Happy fall everyone. Can’t wait to see all the fun Halloween costumes!!!
Anything with ice cream is a winner in my book! Movies on the beach sound amazing. Happy fall to you!
