Meet theGIRL

IMG_4577Hello! I’m Sarah – a.k.a theGIRL of Girl Grows Up. If you made your way to this page, I’m guessing you’re curious about the author behind the blog.

About theGIRL

I am a 30-something wife and mom. I married my high school sweetheart (theBOY) nine years ago, and I like him even more now than I did on our wedding day. I work outside the home full-time at a job that keeps me busy writing, editing and coordinating projects throughout the week. My three-year old daughter (bigSIS) and one-year old boy (lilBRO) keep me busy at all other times of the day!

I love to read (anything and everything), write and edit (when inspired or paid for it).

I love diet coke, peanut M&Ms, all things purple, and Jesus.

Why do I blog anonymously? Mostly because I write quite a bit about my family members – two of whom aren’t old enough to agree to being written about publicly. Also? I’m mysterious like that.

About the Blog

I started this blog in 2009 when I was 28 and pregnant with my first baby. I knew my life was about to change in ways I could never imagine. No turning back once a baby arrived. I was on the brink of real-deal adulthood. So, I decided to document the journey – because I realized I was growing from the little girl I’d always been to the woman I’ll continue to become each day for the rest of my life.

Girl Grows Up follows this journey (while celebrating my inner girlie who will likely never grow up)! Will you join me? I’ll share what I’m learning, if you promise to do the same. I love to hear from you. LOVE it.

    • Hi Sarah! Your mom sent me info on your blog so I thought that I would
check it out and say hello! As one who has watched you grow throughout
the years and mature and become the fine women and mother
that you have become, I want you to know that even though we haven’t
seen you very much the past 8-10 years Mom & Dad have proudly
kept us informed with your lifes accomplishments! I have seen pictures
of your beautiful children and I would have to say you have done quite
well young lady and I want you to know that I am proud of you also!
Sarah, Thanks for letting this old man spend a couple minutes with
you on your blog. May I close by wishing you & your family all of
God’s Blessings! Merry Christmas! Steve Your OC Friends!
