Meet theGIRL

Hello! I’m Sarah – a.k.a theGIRL of Girl Grows Up.

If you’re new here and wondering what you can expect, start here.  If you want to know more about me and why I write this blog, read on.

I’m sure there’s a point in every girl’s life when she realizes she’s gone from the little girl she’s always been to the woman she will continue to become each day for the rest of her life. For me, it happened in 2009 when I was pregnant with my first baby, so I started this blog to document the journey.

Now that I have two little sets of eyes on me, it’s time for me to grow up and focus on what’s most important in life because there aren’t enough hours in the day for anything more.

My toddler watches and listens to every move I make…shaping the woman she’ll become one day. And the new baby boy, well, he’ll be doing the same soon enough.

I am a 30-something wife and mom. I married my high school sweetheart (theBOY) eight years ago, and I like him even more now than I did on our wedding day. I work outside the home full-time at a job that keeps me busy writing, editing and coordinating projects throughout the week. My two-year old daughter (bigSIS) and baby boy (lilBRO) keep me busy at all other times of the day!

I love to read (anything and everything) and write (when inspired or paid for it).

My ideal job involves writing and editing from home or a nearby coffee shop instead of an office.

I love diet coke, peanut M&Ms, all things purple and Jesus.

Girl Grows Up follows my journey as a busy working mom trying to give 100 percent to all of life’s priorities (while celebrating my inner girlie who will likely never grow up)! I share simple crafts and recipes as I stumble upon them, as well as product reviews when I find something too good to keep to myself. I also have a tendency to write about things that inspire me. I hope you’ll join me!

Why do I blog anonymously? Mostly because I write quite a bit about my family members – two of whom aren’t old enough to agree to being written about publicly.
